    AU Sour Mash Whiskey Essence turns vodka or neutral spirit into a round, sweet, smoke-free corn whiskey with a character of vanilla, caramel and toasted oak.

    The bottle holds 50 ml and makes 2.25 litres of finished spirit – three 75 cl bottles. Instructions are on the label.

    Serve on the rocks, with ginger ale or in a tall drink with cola.

    A 50 ml bottle for when you are mixing for a party or a weekend away, or simply like to keep the drinks cabinet well stocked. Three whole bottles of sour mash whiskey from one small bottle of essence – it hardly gets handier than that.

    Flavour Profile

    Expect a golden-brown whiskey whose nose offers vanilla custard, maple syrup and banana bread. The taste is soft and generous, with butter toffee, sweet corn and a pinch of cinnamon, framed by a dry, lightly charred oakiness. The finish is smooth and warming, with a last breath of vanilla and white pepper.

    How to Use

    Mix with vodka or neutral spirit. 50 ml of essence makes 2.25 litres of finished spirit, equivalent to three 75 cl bottles. Instructions are on the label.

    Serving Suggestions

    • Neat, at room temperature, if you want to catch every nuance.
    • In a mint julep with crushed ice, sugar and lots of fresh mint.
    • With lemonade and ice – the easiest long drink of the summer.

    The AU range was developed for markets where 2.25 litres is a common bottle size, and its practical format has made it popular closer to home as well.
